how about this way to make money?

Definitely in need of making more money, so I'm racking my brain trying to come up with ways that don't involve me actually getting a part time job since who the heck would even hire someone about to have a baby???

Anyway, along with my other ideas, here's something I thought of doing...

what about cooking freezer meals for people (like they do at those cooking class places)? Mainly for family who all has older (middle school) aged kids and who both parents work and always complain about coming up with something for dinner or what not. Do you think that would work? I'm thinking with all my couponing, I could get the staples for cheap or free, then make the meals, and deliver them. I could do it on MY time, in MY house, and hopefully make a profit. I know i won't make a ton of money or anything, but do you think people would actually buy stuff? I'm thinking family, friends, and friends of friends....thoughts?

Re: how about this way to make money?

  • It is a great idea, but you have to get your kitchen certified and you have to take classes in food safety.  Plus, you will have to get your food tested for caloric values, vitamins ect.  If you are willing to put in the work and capital needed to start the business, then I would figure out the need in your area for this type of service and any competition that you might have. If everything looks good, then go for it.

  • I make a little extra spending money with pinecone research and a few other similar companies. It ads up and doesn't cost anything.
  • Tupperware is a good gig- even has healthcare if you want it... not hard, make your own hours, and lots of support. just a thought.
  • I think I remember my mom saying someone she knows is a "rent a wife" for extra money.   Basically for older widows, they go cook, clean, do laundry, just basic housewife stuff that the older guys can't or don't want to do.  Maybe that is an idea?

But for the food thing, you will have to check with your state food safety guidelines, because you will probably need the certified kitchen along with food safety certifications and whatever else the state requires.
