H wants to use Alexander as a mn for a boy. The problem is our last name (sounds like Saunders) is actually a derivative of Alexander so it's kind of a Tom Thompson thing for me. Plus, I think they sound too similar:
(First name) Alexander Saunders. Weird or not?
Also, do you think any -son mn will also sound weird because of the 'son' and 'saun' sounds or am I overthinking it?

Re: This is weird, right?
Ok, did you know that Saunders was a derivative of Alexander BEFORE you started looking at names?
Because I had no idea.
I DO believe that people over think the whole name thing. As long as the initials do not create a wierd word, the name is easy enough to spell and pronounce and wont make a kindergarten teacher go insane, just do it.

She said sounds like Saunders...so my first thought was that it IS Xander
Saunder and Xander do not sound a like to me.
Saunder = Sawn-der
Xander = Zan-der
But if it is Xander, I wouldn't use Alexander.

It's the MN. It doesn't matter if it flows.
If you like it. Use it.
