I'm not trying to be snarky, but are you sure it's a good idea to give your 9 month old mac n cheese?
Why not?
What shape pasta did you use? I use wheels and cut in half. With elbow macaroni, I cut it up the first time, but by 8.5 months or so they shovelled it all in whole!

I'd have to agree with this. Hannah LOVES mac n' cheese. If you think it's too big cut it in 1/2. I boil them for a little longer too, to soften them up a bit. She loves all finger food right now also.

I have given B Annie's mac & cheese! Oh the horror!
I gave B full size rotini pasta for the first time a few nights ago and he did really well. The pasta falls apart on its own when he's grabbing it and trying to eat it, so he didn't get a lot of huge pieces. I think that if your LO is doing well with finger foods you might want to see how LO does with a few pieces before worrying about cutting it all up.
