what do you think a reasonable length of time to expect Marion to stay in her crib would be (before converting it to a toddler bed) and how long would you think you could use a toddler bed for?
Thank the good lord about she's not a climber and we just now (when we moved) dropped the crib to the lowest setting for the mattress.
I'm just hoping that she doesn't decide to try to start escaping about the time we move sister into the nursery too.
How long was your child in a crib for? a toddler bed?
Re: reasonable expectations ... help me out please
We moved Luca at 18 months when he started to climb out. We have a convertable crib and he has been using it as a toddler bed ever since. I have no plans to change beds for him anytime soon.
Lila stands at the rail, but doesn't try to climb. I plan to keep her in the crib as long as she will stay.
Luca's BFF is still in a crib and he's almost 3.
My little one was a climber. We tried to move to a toddler bed at about 15 months but since there was a Queen bed in the room too she would always end up climbing onto that and sleeping. Eventually I just put the Toddler bed in the attic.

I might be AP, but I believe in caging them as long as possible!
Thankfully Ollie shows no signs of being a climber. I think he'll be in the crib until he starts climbing out or just gets uncomfortable. If M is happy in the crib I can't see any reason to move her.

I apparently slept in my crib until my brother was born...when I was 4!
I climbed out once and fell pretty hard. I never tried to climb out after that.
Cam doesn't try to climb out of the crib at all. I'm thankful for that. DH has talked about moving him to his new bed, twin that has been passed down for 4 generations.
Question. For those of you that went to a twin/ full/ queen bed, was your DS/ DD able to get in bed themselves? Did the rails keep them in?
I know he could get down no problem. I just wonder what happens if he slithers down during the night and can't get back up. Does he sleep on the floor every night. I see this happening often which I why I haven't even thought of moving him to the new bed.
We converted K's crib to a toddler bed right before age 2, and she's STILL in it....but we are about to convert it to it's full-size version in the next couple of weeks.
That being said, my sister left her twins in their actual crib until a bit over 3, as they never tried to climb out so she just felt more secure with them more confined.
To each their own.
