2nd or more timers question---

My due date is Friday and ever since last night I am having almost constant menstrual type cramps. I have been BH'ing a lot the last few days but the cramps are new and I'm having a blood tinged discharge. Nothing that's really alarming me, understand its par for the course, but how long did others experience the constant cramping until it switched to contractions? I can't really find a ballpark answer on this. Thanks for any advice.

For me it was about a week. Some people are alot faster though, so hard to say.

how long have you had the blood tinged discharge for? I've heard that you should go into labor 1-2 days after you start seeing that.

 With DD my water broke in the middle of the night 3 days past my due date. had no BH or regular contractions or discharge prior to that.

With my first at about 39w 5d, I had an appointment with my OB. I remember telling her that I had been crampy all day and wanted her to check me to see if I had any progress (I didn't up to that point). I was not dilated at all but that night I ended up going into labor. HTH! Good luck!

I had some cramps the day before I went into labor.  I was 3cm dilated when I went in to the hospital, so it may have been actual labor pains instead of cramps???  I never had bloody discharge until I was in active labor.

Have you told your dr about the blood?  That's one of the few reasons I'm supposed to call at this point, assuming it's red and not brown.

Probably just early labor.  I have been having crampy BH since about 34 weeks.  Sounds like you are going to go into more active labor any day now, so just try and relax and let your body do its thing.  If they are getting more intense, like where you have to stop and breath or can't talk through them then you will want to pay closer attention and maybe give the OB a call.

I had blood-tinged discharge for the first time during my pregnancy 24 hours before I delivered DD.  Cramping is definitely a sign of contracting, but I've had that most of both pregnancies (I have an "irritable uterus" LOL)
