I am looking for one car seat that I can use from newborn to toddler. I
am assuming a convertible car seat is the best? I don't need a seat
that goes into a stroller and I don't think I need one with a removable
base. Just one seat that will stay in the car always.
I was intrigued by the Safety 1st Air convertible car seat with the air "bags" for side impact crashes.
I am so overwhelmed at the number of car seats out there I would love some advice
Thanks!
Re: I need some advice on a car seat?
When the babies out grow their infant seats... I think we'll look at the Britax Blvd. The baby bargain book would tell you which ones they rate the best.
Yes, they will give you the ones that rated highly, but just remember they aren't rated by safety but instead by ease of use, etc. All seats are safe if they fit your baby, fit your car and are installed properly.
The issue with convertibles is that even though most are rated for 5lbs+, they DO NOT properly fit infants. Especially, Britax seats which consistently rate high.
ETA: To the OP, you can look at this site too. It is very informative (frequented by a lot of car seat techs), and you can search the site by the seat you are looking at to find all posts regarding that seat.
