I have 6 week old girls that weight about 7lbs each. I am looking into the gdiaper and bum genius...any thoughts? other recomendations? and how many should I be getting?
XP this question to the eco-friendly board, too. You'll get a lot of helpful responses there.
I've never tried g-diapers, but I've heard not great things. Again, though, no personal experience.
We use BG 3.0s for DD1; we have a stash of about 25 or 30, and can do laundry every other or every 3rd day. They don't really start fitting well until 10 or 12 lbs, though, so they'd likely be a bit big on your 7 lb babes.

I've never used g-diapers but haven't heard great things about them. We use a mixture of BG and FBs. Love them both. They're not great until your babies are 10lbs or so. We used them a little earlier than that, but they leaked a lot. For newborns we used a combination of prefolds and fitteds with Thirsties covers.

Re: any cloth diaper mommas? Help needed
Love bumgenius- we are currently doing BG bamboo (which is discontinued) or prefolds with thirsties size 1 covers...
I then have mainly BG pockets and AIO's when we get out of the newborn phase... The eco friendly family board is super helpful!
We used Bum Genius with DD and loved them. At 7lbs though your girls are probably still a little bit too small for the Bum Genius.
It depends on how often you plan to do laundry, if you want to go several days in between washing then you need more diapers.
