do you sterilize it? If so, how? I want to get the Dr. Brown's pitcher, but I dont know it it can be sterilized. I sterilize the bottles once a week, and having a storage pitcher that does not sterilize will defeat the purpose.
So I bought a 32 ounce Rubbermaid pitcher with a screw on lid from Fry's (Kroger) for $6. I make 24 ounces in it (so I have room to shake) and put it in the fridge at around 8. I shake it a few more random times before bed and once in the morning before I take her to daycare. (I make her morning bottle fresh, the pitcher/jug goes to daycare).
It cost $6 and it goes right in the dishwasher. Just an idea
I have the Dr Browns pitcher. I wash it with soap and hot water every time I make a new batch of formula, once or twice a day. I have 5 bottles and once I have used all 5, I put them through the dishwasher.
I posted the question earlier about the differnce between sterilizng and washing and the responses were simply, hot water versus soap, so I assume washing the pitcher with hot soapy water will do.
BUT the Dr Brown's pitcher is small enough that you could probably boil it in a large pot of water if you wanted.
I sterilize my Dr Brown bottles & pitcher every single day! (I have that option on my dishwasher) If you do not have a dishwasher just boil it in a large pot.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with PP on the buying a regular pitcher for $6 thing.
Right now I don't use a pitcher, I just pre-make the amount of bottles i need for the day and store them in the fridge, pre-made, pre-measured, just need to be heated up when DD is hungry. I then put all the bottles in the dishwasher at night to sterlize.
