2nd Trimester

How....

far along are you usually before you first feel the baby move!?

Re: How....

  • I started feeling little flutters at 15 weeks and I was second guessing myself but by 16 weeks it was obvious.  FWIW my friend was 19 weeks before she felt anything.

I coulnd't tell if what I was feeling was "baby" and wasn't willing to call "baby" when it might have been my digestive system. But at almost 19 weeks I felt an unmistakeable poke -- that was NOT my intestines. And ever since then I've been able to distinguish even the lightest "flutters" from gas or whatever.

Food makes her move, especially in the morning, and my husband likes to talk to my belly and she moves whenever that happens.

It's different for everyone... I felt mine early at 14 weeks, and outside kicks by 16. I think for most people 16-20 weeks is more normal.

  • I felt flutters around 14 weeks and kicks around 17 weeks.  It was much later with my 1st, though.

  • This is my first pg. Nothing for me yet. I've got so much gas rumbling around in my abdo, I have no idea what I feel or think I feel. Just waiting for something distinct.
