I really really do- especially when it is dealing with something I know very little about. I always have that feeling in the back of my head that I/we are getting taken advantaged of- same thing with dealing with car stuff.
Dealing with two contractors today- i was told a myriad of things that seemed to be extra/added on- that either didn't seem necessary or just seemed padded. kwim?-
blah-
Re: I hate dealing with contractors-
YES! And they use jargon to talk over your head. And then I debate between asking a thousand questions because I don't know if that will taken as a weakness - I don't want to point out that I don't know anything about the topic, but I don't want to make a decision without knowing about the topic. AND I think that when many of them walk into a house with a SAHM, they think, 'aw sweet, I can take advantage of this woman'
GL!
This is the one area that I'm good at because it's my background.
Whenever I get contractors in they do think that I'm someone that has no idea what they're talking about. It's how I weed out the "better" contractors from the guys who will rip you off.
I don't have an issue paying for good service. I just don't want to overpay because someone wants to make a bigger profit and cut corners......
