3rd Trimester

I know my admin means well...

but she is driving me bat-sh!t-crazy.

Today she asked, "So who would you like to drive you to the hospital if things progress today?  We should have a plan.  Let me grab a pen."

Umm, what?  She keeps hinting that she wants to be 'the person' to drive me to the hospital.  First of all, I plan on heading home if contractions start so I won't need coworkers help.  And secondly, if things progress REALLY fast (which they won't), I will just call DH to come get me.  These questions are all followed up by horrific stories of her ONE CHILD BIRTH EXPERIENCE nearly 35 years ago.

I swear she wants me to go into labor at work so she can be a part of it.  All the more reason I really wish today was my last day so I could say adios for 12 weeks :)

  • LMAO! Have you told her you have a plan and you will be sticking to it if something was to begin while in the office? Crazy people...they're in every office LOL
  • Coming from an admin... that's hilarious: "let me grab a pen"... I think I'll say that a little less often now :)

On the other hand, have you told her your plan. If she had a "horrific" birth experience she may just be trying to have your back (that is her job afterall) and make sure you have a plan... I wonder if you filled her in if she would lay off a bit... I would if it was me anyways.

One of my boss' (I have 8) has brain trouble and is undergoing treatment. At first I was panicky about his plan for transportation home if he has trouble here at work, but he's filled me in that if he needs a ride I can drive him, but if he feels trouble coming he'll just leave at that point before it gets to bad.  I haven't had to drive him yet but am ready for the word just in case...

I have the opposite problem. All my 8 bosses are offering to take me home if I need it...

Haha, like I said... she means SO WELL.  It's just hard when everyone is constantly in your face, checking in.  People have said they are "scared to knock on my door because it will startle me into labor"... not kidding.

But you're right, she's trying to have my back and that rocks.  So I did explain to her my plan.  I just had to do so carefully... I think she really wants to be a part of it.  Which is sweet!  But not so much.  ;)
