Re: ::Trying For A Sibling Check-in::

  • Congrats to all the BFPs!

QOTD: DH and I were married in a small town outside of Niagara Falls, ON, in June 2003.  I can't believe it'll be our 7th anniversary soon.  We had a pretty small wedding, about 75 people.  My MIL made my dress (she's a seamstress, so that might sound scarier than it actually was, lol)  My bridesmaids wore pale pink strapless dresses and we had all cream & pink roses.  DH and I were married in a historic chapel and then we honeymooned in Old Quebec City.

Nothing new to report on the TTC front.  I went for a two-hour glucose tolerance test last Friday and I think I am going to try to do the HSG this week.  I've been on low-dose BCP for one week now and I hate it.  I feel sick to my stomach and I've been spotting (which doctor said is normal)  Ugh, not I remember why I stopped taking hormonal birth control soon after my wedding - I hate it!!  July 3rd (last day on BCP) can't come fast enough.

  • I married my best friend 5 years ago April 30th.  I got married in my childhood church and had my reception at my parents country club in my hometown.  My first word and favorite color was purple...so my colors were purple, silver and white (with a hint of pink in the flowers).  I BM dresses were long and purple.  My flowers were Irises, roses and stephanopsis.  We had a square cake that was off-set and had flowers on top.  We had a very personal wedding.  I gave my DH his dad's wedding ring (he passed away when DH was 18), we wrote our own vows, my cousin performed the ceremony and a friend sang.  We had jewelry made for my cousin, myself and my mom and aunts from my recently deceased grandma, our table numbers were locations from the university we met at, we wrote personal messages on everyone's favors at their tables, and I sang to DH at the reception.  For me...it was the little things.   We took a cruise to the Western Caribbean for our HM and it was the vacation of a lifetime.  We talk about it often and really want to go on another one day.

I was going to try to be calm this 2WW but I'm as obsessive as ever.  Now with so many BFPs in our group and this being my 10th month...I'm very pessimistic and antsy.  I long so much for the chance to be a mom again and it's so painful to think it might not happen for us.  We have so much love to give and I think we did a great job with our son so far...why won't God bless us with another???  sigh!

  • We got married 7 years ago today. We were still teenagers so our wedding was small, simple and fairly cheap.

The colors were lavender, yellow and cream. We were married in a small church with about 30 people as our witnesses. It as candle light wedding. Very beautiful.

As for me, well, 4DPO baby!  ::does a little dance:: I can't believe I finally O'd.

  • Wow congrats to all of the BFPs!!!

QOTD: We've been married for about a year and a half. Together for 8 years. We had a church wedding and the colors were hot pink, black and white. I loved my wedding. Wish I could go through it all over again.

Nothing good going on with TTC right now. We had sh!tty timing so I'm just ready for AF to get her in a week or so to get on with the next cycle. Bad timing sucks!

  • We got married 4 yrs ago in June. Boy how times flies! We had a Church ceremony and reception at a local hotel. It poured as soon as we got inside for the reception and luckily we were able to get our outside photos. My colors were blue slate and flowers were light blue hydrangeas.

I'm hoping I o'd this cycle I will find out in a few days and then mabye finally be in the 2ww! I got a + opk-- the last time I got one of these was Dec 07 when dd was conceived.

  • Updates: None yet I am waiting for my endo biopsy results.

QOTW: We eloped. We got married at Disney all alone, I regret not taking DS, but at the same time It was the best thing we could do. It was intimate and private. I loved it!

Edit: We where married 4 years ago in June.

    Congrats to all the BFP's!

  • Congrats to all the BFP's!! Good luck 2ww'ers!

    Great story Monica!

I married my best friend 3 years ago on Cinco de Mayo.  About a week before the wedding, my mom and I went to put flowers on my father's grave.  My mom got there before I did and found a letter on the headstone in a ziploc bag.  We were both curious and when she opened it, it was a letter to my dad from my dh. Ugh! It makes me tear up just to think about it, anyway, I already knew, but from that day on I knew I found a gem.

We got married in my hometown, in the church I grew up in (they were in the process of building a new church and I desperately wanted to marry in the old church). My colors were brown and coral.  My bouquet was cream colored roses and stephanotis with coral swarovski crystals inserted in the center, bridesmaids carried victorian pomander (kissing) balls made of creme roses, coral flowers and greenery, and my niece carried a wand and the ringbearer carried a Neverending Pewter Ring with silk flowers that matched everyone elses, that now hangs on the wall in our home.  We incorporated my dad in our day, he was definitely there in spirit.  We put a special acknowledgement in our program, I wore my mom's wedding set as my something old, I danced with my mom to Sam Cook's "You send me", it was a surprise for her, it was "their song" and she was so emotional that I thought to do that.  I could go on and on for pages, but that is the gist.  We went to Punta Cana, DR for our honeymoon and CANNOT wait to go back! 2 years!! Anniversary #5, we will be there!

    image

I am gearing up to O, expect to Thursday or Friday.  I have been very relaxed and hope to keep busy during the 2ww.  It really has helped to avoid the bump weeknights and just small check-in's on the weekend.

    My Little
  • Hi there, could I be added to the list?  I'm Erin, we just started TTC #2 and currently live in MN.

What a fun question since my 6th anniversary is on Friday! (my estimated O date...yay timing!) Yes

Our wedding was on a Friday evening in eastern Iowa, where we both grew up.  The ceremony started at 7:30 (we had taken pictures before) and the church sanctuary was mostly candlelit.  We had a brass quintet of musician friends playing the wedding music, and a friend play piano for worship songs and our recessional "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole.  The bridesmaids wore red dresses from the same line but different styles.  There were all my favorite flowers: tulips, peonies and gardenias in either red or white.  My bouquet was huge and all red tulips & peonies.  My thumbs hurt from carrying the massive bouquet!

After the ceremony we hopped in a 1924 Model T and went to our reception which was held at a hotel ballroom.  It was a fun ride because the car couldn't go very fast and all of our guests were passing us and waving and yelling congratulations. :)  The reception had passed hors d'oeuvers, copious amounts of wine and lots of jazz/big band music until after we ate the delicious cake and then it was a dance party that lasted until 3am.  Our first dance was "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" by Louis Armstrong.  It was such a fun night!  I don't feel like it flew by for me, and I'm really grateful for that.  I liked having such a late ceremony because it gave us plenty of daytime to hang out with our friends and family.

Like I said, our 6th anniversary is Friday, and in August we'll have been "together" for 10 years.

Sunday/Monday QOTD:   I was at a gorgeous wedding this weekend and it got me thinking about my own, 5 years ago.  Tell us a little about your wedding?colors, dress, locale, theme.  How long have you been married to your DH?

QOTD: DH and I have been married a little over a year and a half. We loooved our wedding. We thought it was going to be a lot smaller than it was, but my dad (who I didn't/don't always have the best relationship with) surprisingly offered to help a LOT, so we got to do all sorts of stuff we thought would be out of the question. It was at a wedding/event place right on the Chesapeake Bay. Our colors were off white, navy blue, and a really pretty green. Two of my best friends who I never get to see got to come in from UT and Canada to be my BMs. :)

In cycle news, I O'd! I'm so happy. We're not technically going to be hardcore trying until August (although if it happens before then, we'd love it), but I'm so excited that my cycles are coming back. It'll suck a little to have AF when I haven't since before DD was conceived (AF showed on our honeymoon, BTW) but that just means we're moving in the right direction.

Good morning and good luck to you all, ladies!

  • Thanks for the congrats. I hope to see you all on 1st tri soon!
  • erbearerbear member

Could you add me, please?  I have a DD, Kate, who is almost 15 months, and we are on cycle 1 of TTC #2.  I'm currently 7 DPO.  I'm from PA. Um, I don't know how to link my chart :)

QOTD:  DH and I have been married nearly 6 years.  No theme to our wedding, no colors (BMs wore their own black dresses, flowers were pink). It was pretty low-key...but in the same place as my senior prom (which we attended together in 1995!)

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut

QOTD:  My DH and I are quickly approaching our 4 year anniversary.  We were married in a Catholic church on a beautiful, early fall, Friday evening.  The reception was held at a ball room downtown circa 1920. The room overlooks the city which was the perfect back drop to dance the night away.  My bridesmaid dresses were a bronz-y champagne color complimented with red roses.  I had a cathedral length veil, antique lace dress and carried white roses down the aisle.  I wish I could relive it - especially since we honeymooned in Hawaii for 2 weeks!

TTC:  I am in the middle of cycle #3 of trying to conceive #2.  I just started charting my temps and I am waiting to see the shift to confirm I O'd!  I really hope this is our cycle!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

  • DH and I will celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary tomorrow on 5/18. We met and married in Austin, TX. My dressk was two tone embelishments on the bodice with chiffon gown and train. My something borrowed was my SIL's head pc and veils and my colors were chocolate and pale pink.

I'm not new to the bump as I has a missed miscarriage in 2007, and a successful pregnancy 12/2008. Our DS is now almost 17 months and decided to start TFAS :-)

I am in the 1WW this week and 10 DPO today.

    Baby dust to you all.

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I am feeling the same. This is month 15 (I think....I have sort of lost track) and it is so hard to have hope each month. I hope this is your month!

As for the qotd-DH and I have been married 5 years. We actually had a court house wedding that we didn't tell anyone about 6 months before our wedding. Everything was planned at the time but we thought it was fun to have something just for us. :)

  •   Congrats to all the BFPs and good luck to the 2WWers!

We got married three years ago this August. I am from Luxembourg (tiny country in Europe) and we had the wedding at the church I went to growing up. It was a very small (34 people) wedding because a lot of people from the US simply couldn't make that big of a trip. But we were ok with that because it made for a relatively stress-free and intimate wedding.

We didn't stick too much with a color theme (Europeans don't really do that) but my flowers were mini white calla lilies, white roses, and blue hydrangeas.

TTC: DPO2 here and cycle #3, not much else going on. :)

  • QOTD:  My DH and I will be married 6 years this October.  We got married in the foothills of the Colorado mountains at a little chapel at Red Rocks.  We had our reception at the Red Rocks Ampitheater center.  The views for both the ceremony and the reception were so amazing.  The bridesmaids were light honey gold dresses and the groomsmen had matching ties.  Since we got married in the fall I tried to use a lot of the fall colors to match the beautiful outdoor scenery.

Update:  I am 10dpiui and I am hoping I can make it until Friday without AF showing so I can test.  Beta is scheduled a week from today.

    Yay for all the BFP's!

DH and I got married in Niagara Falls (Canada side). It was very nice and fun. We had about 50 people there. We had everything in shades of blue. We have been married 3 years April 21. Yay!

  • Hi guys! I've kind of been MIA lately, I get so frustrated with TTC so I've been taking a break from the board to chill out.

We got married 5 years ago in the town we live in now. It was a wonderful day, we had a church ceremony and a reception nearby. My colors were pink and green. I remember being very stressed out and nervous, but after the ceremony I let loose. So crazy to think that was five years ago!

  • Hi Ladies!  Congrats to all the BFPs!!

    1.  DH and I got married in Block Island, RI - it will be 4yrs in October.  We had a horrendous day (hurricane type rain, lol) but by 4pm the clouds cleared and the sun came out.  It was a miracle. :)

    2.  Still waiting through the long 2ww.  I'm 10 days past trigger and 8 DPO... so early testing sucks because you don't know if its real or just the trigger still there. blah. :(

  • Good morning ladies,

QOTD: We were married in January. It was a simple but wonderful wedding. My colors where silver and red. We where married in a small church DH attended all his life. We had a reception at a nearby hall. The food was so yummy and I can honestly say it was one of teh greatest days of my life. I am OCD and very anal but manages to actually stay calm eventhough we had no music at church =(..Ir rained so hard while we were taking our photographs and DH had to go pick up the DJ last minute. I tried to make the best ofit and it was great =)! We went to Cancun Mexico for our honeymoon and it was so beautiful!!

I actually had dotted crosshairs last week but i knew they where too early and now once again no CH's in my chart I will starst using OPK's soon Wow! Great to hear we had so many BFP's congrats! GL to all the WW'ers

  • Can I join too?

I did a quick intro at the end of last week but my DH and I are going on our 4th cycle of trying for our second.  I'm on CD 5 and just waiting for my period to end.

Our wedding was just over 4 years ago.  We had a traditional Catholic ceremony and a beautiful reception at an old mansion.  My bridesmaids wore light pink tea-length dresses and all of our flowers were tulips and gerber daisies; it was really beautiful, a lovely warm day, and really had a nice spring feeling to it.

  • ReeseMReeseM member

Our wedding ceremony was in a church, and the reception was in a huge tent on our property. We had bonfires and everything, and it rocked! The only thing I regret is being so tired, and not being able to thoroughly enjoy the party. I took too much on myself, house guests, planning, etc, and was so stressed.

    Congrats to all the BFPs!!!!

Got my first confirmed O date today, as it's my first month charting. I am so excited. Not sure why, but I seem to be super hopeful now, and I am pretty sure there was nothing any different this cycle, besides knowing for sure what my O date was. Timing and so forth was just as good as usual.

    I really want a baby....

  • Oh Monica? I know that Strimble got a BFP this weekend but she is likely losing the baby right now (she hasn't been around a ton but did post it on 12-24). So if there are any spare prayers to go around, I am sure she could use them right now.
  • QOTD: DH and I have been married for almost 4 years (June), and together for almost 12.  We had a beautiful ceremony at a small park in our neighborhood and our reception at the NC Transportation Museum, which is just up the street from us.  DH's grandfather worked for the railroad before he retired and passed away so we thought it was a great tribute to him.  We had a beautiful day!  The bridal party wore a whisteria blue color and I had mulit-colored gerbera daisies as my flowers.  It was perfect!

Currently in the 2ww.  Cycle #11 CD22.  At this point it is getting hard to stay positive.  I'm TERRIFIED of reaching the 1 year mark.  And I keep getting the usual BS comments from folks who don't know and have never been in this situation ("Relax", "All in Gods time", "Maybe this is Gods way of telling you that you're not ready for another child yet", "You have plenty of time", "You're young and healthy, it will happen eventually") and I'm tired of biting my tongue and nodding politely.

  • Congrats to all of our BFPS and keep them coming ladies!

We got married at at local park right on the lake in September.  I can't believe it is actaully going to be 5 years this year!  We did fall themed colors (Crimson, yellow, orange).  It was a great wedding except that it was an unually hot day for late September and the wedding was outside.  Not fun.  However, everthing else was great so I really can't complain.

Not much new with me, just waiting for AF to show so we can get more blood work and start clomid.  Hope everyone has a good week!

  • QOTD: We'll be celebrating our 6 year anniversary on June 5! We got married in my parents' backyard, and it was wonderful!  It felt so special to have my family and friends witness our marriage in the place where I grew up.  My parents' backyard is like a little piece of heaven.  And now I love hanging out back there with Nate and remembering my wedding day.  :)

Cycle news: I'm just on CD3, so there's nothing going on.  I have decided that I'm not going to temp after O is confirmed this cycle.  I hope it will make the 2ww less stressful for me.

  • I'm new here but we're trying for a sibling for DS too.

QOTD: DH and I have been married for 2 years - 4/22. We were married in CT by a friend of ours. I have never been interested in fancy schmancy weddings so this was perfect for us. I found a B&B online that offered wedding packages complete with cake, justice of the peace and a room for the night. Sounded perfect so we booked it when we got there however the place was beyond gross. We quickly found a hotel right on the beach that was beautiful and DH's friend who is a minister married us on a the pier. The only people that were there for what I consider to be our actual ceremony were my parents and brothers and a bunch of random strangers whispering "I think she's a bride". It was PERFECT!!!! Loads of clapping when we finished and beautiful very natural pictures. We didn't have colors and I didn't wear a typical wedding dress but the dress was perfect for the way our wedding turned out.
