Somewhat random, but I figured I'd throw this out there (it's a slow night). Maybe some of you struggling on middle names will be inspired lol.
My sisters & I all have the same middle name- 'Walker' - which was my mother's maiden name. DH & I really like the idea of giving a kid a name from both mom & dad- particularly when we don't have any 'family' names we'd like to use. We'll likely do the same for our kiddos.
Anyone else ever find someone who did this or plan to? My maiden name is somewhat unusual, but it flows VERY well with our last name, so that helps a lot.
Re: Maiden Name = Middle Name
glad to know we're not the only ones!
and oooh! Christ! I can COMPLETELY understand the issues surrounding it because of spelling, but pronounced correctly, I LOVE it!!! Your family really does have lovely last names!

That's mine! ha I love it for a boy or Wilhelmina for a girl.
I know a fair amount of people who have done this. I did it myself. My maiden name, though, is Cole, which is becoming a boys name in it's own right.

I never found middle names to be a big deal, but I do see them as a good place to put a family name. My middle name is my grandmother's first name, for example.
So the boys each have a family maiden name as their middle name. Linus has my maiden name, Oliver has MIL's maiden name, and Miles has my mom's maiden name. We put the names together based on what sounded best together.
