son of a b!tch!!!! help me please.

GGRRR!!!! I'm so freggin' pissed off right now. I bought a "waterproof mattress pad" but guess what, its NOT water(pee) proof. DS had an accident while napping (SUPER rare) and sure as shiit it leaked on to his brand new mattress.

So, please recommend your MOISTURE proof twin size pad. I had a great one for his crib, has a plastic/quilted backing on it, but I didn't see any of those for a twin size bed.

thanks girls.

  • Any chance it was on upside down? We have a waterproof mattress pad for DD and my DH put it on upside down once, with the plastic-side up. She had a middle-of-the-night accident, and I noticed that it was upside-down, but didn't think much of it, just quick changed the sheets and then back to bed. I didn't figure out until the next day that the pee had leaked around the sides and all over the mattress. I was so mad I thought I'd kill DH. The pad had definitely worked before, so I know that's why it leaked that time. In any case, the best one we have is from Kohl's and it's called the "Ultimate" or something like that.
  • I don't remember the brand, but I got our mattress covers at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and they seem to work well.  Evan has peed on his a few times, and it's never gone through to the mattress.

  • No, it wasn't upside down... :( I wish it were that simple.

Does yours have a plastic backing or center or what? I'm off to Kohls site to see what I can find. :)

  • We got ours at JC Penney. It's plastic backed with a quilted top and elastic sides. We have them for all of our beds and I really like them.
  • We bought one at a local mattress store.  If it is not leak proof, they will replace your mattress!

    oh good idea!
  • Why yes it is! I like them, but the mattress store idea is a gem. Good Luck!

Looked quickly on the site--I think it's the "Home Classics Total Protection" one. I'm not positive, though (bought it in the store 2 years ago) That description doesn't say it's waterproof, but the one we have definitely is. It was tested many, many times during DD's complete PT relapse last winter. It's a lot fluffier and nicer than the plastic-backed one. I would go in and check for you but it's currently on DD's bed. GL!
