HI! I'm glad u asked. I'm also curious to know & I'm watching this thread. Ironically, I was just researching some today as a possible gift for our families in other states. From what I can tell, I believe it depends on how much the farm plants & is survives the weather when harvested. I believe that the farmer(s) try to make sure that they have enough for each person that they order. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. TIA for your replies! Take care!
This is a typical box from the CSA we are using this year. But the thing is that it really varies from farm to farm, week to week and year to year. You never know what you are going to get.
We are sharing with a friend of mine, so we divided everything up.Here's what my half looked like today after washing it all. The first 2-3 boxes will be smaller than the rest of the season.
What we got today was 3 lbs potatoes, 1.5 lbs rhubarb, radishes, green leaf lettuce, parsley, arugula, asparagus and green garlic. Mine doesn't look like a lot, b/c it was packed tightly into the strainer so I could take a pic!

The very best thing to do is to check out localharvest.org
