3rd Trimester

Anyone else breech at 34 weeks?

Just had an ultrasound and am still breech.  They say there is still time for him to turn, but I don't know......

  • I will not be getting anymore ultrasounds unless there's a complication. How can they tell that the baby is breech without an ultrasound?

  • I was breech (transverse) at 34wks and now he's head down, but that can change. Remember, LO has lots of room to still move around at 34wks (and in my situation 36wks b.c he's measuring small) so it can change 10 more times before he finds his perm. position. Don't worry too much :-)
  • I was breech at 34 weeks but he's since flipped.  You'll be fine.

A doctor who knows what they are doing can tell by just touching with their hand. I can even tell just by the movements. I knew Conner was head down before my last doc. appointment just by feeling.

Ok, that makes me feel better. Thanks!

  • My midwife could literally feel the position of the baby on the outside of my stomach.

  • Not breech, but transverse here.  LO turned by 36 weeks.
  • My last one was transverse still even a week before delivery, so I was really freaking out about that, but it all worked out in time. Now with this one I SWEAR I am feeling hiccups all the way up top which seems odd to me, but not only does my doc swear he can feel his head at the bottom (how do they do that?!) but he said babies only stay breech 2% of the time so it isn't worth worrying about.

    (I'm still worrying though. :)

  • I'm still breech at 35 weeks. At my 32 week appointment, my doctor was telling me there's still time. But at my last appointment at 34 weeks we had a discussion about doing a version or scheduled c-section. She didn't think he'd flip on his own based on the size of the baby and what room is left.

  • My LO was breech at 33 1/2 weeks.  At a follow-up ultrasound at exactly 35 weeks, s/he had flipped.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that your LO does the same!

  • Wow this is an issue for me too! I knew my baby was head up (under my right rib months ago). I have felt that round head for so long and it's so uncomforable! He was breech then about 6 wks ago he went transverse and he is way up top...literally his whole body is sitting right under my rib cage so I look huge! I had an u/s at my 34 wk appt last week and sure enough head was up just like I said. My dr. told me if I can make it to 38 wks she can try a version but if I go before then (which I may since my 1st was 6wks early) I will have to  have an u/s. I'm really scared of doing that so I am praying that my little guy will flip but I am really so big this time and even my dr. said he's a good size and he feels so tight and comfy in there I just can't see him flipping at this point. He hasn't moved in forever! But I hope he does! Good luck to you!
