1st Trimester

Anyone not have/never have m/s?

Just curious if there are any ladies out there that have evaded this lovely symptom. I was reading a health journal and they said 50-90% of women suffer some type of morning sickness (although 50-90% seems like a really wide range). Any of the 10% here?

  • Well, I am certainly NOT in that club, but my BFF has had 2 kids and not a day of M/S.

I was surprised by this b/c we both get carsick and nauseated easily!

  • i think many people find that m/s doesn't start until 6+ weeks.  this isn't the case for everyone but i don't think you're out of the woods yet!

  • With my son, I never had any morning sickness,  but in the second trimester  I developed an aversion to red meat, but other than that nothing but tiredness.

This time around is a little different, definately feeling nauseous!

  • not me, but i work with someone who had not a ounce of m/s her entire pregnancy, and is pregnant with her 2nd and nothing yet either!
  • This is my first pregnancy and I've got twins on board. No m/s or nausea here at all.

  • I have felt nauseous plenty, but never actually got sick. And I think it tapered off at about 10 weeks or so. I've been feeling pretty good since.
  • Well, I hope I'm not jinxing myself LOL but tomorrow's ten weeks and I haven't had any yet. So I think I might be in the lucky 10%. My mom was like that too. If it makes you feel better though, I have absolutely horrible acne, so I didn't escape symptom-free.

  • Very very interesting...it keeps me hopeful. I definatly have had an adversion to diet coke (which I suppose is good because I shouldn't be drinking it), but nothing yet (keeps fingers tightly crossed)

  • I never had any m/s when I was pg with DD.  Now this pg is a whole different story!
  • I didn't have an ounce of m/s with DS.  It was nice.  This time I had a ton of morning sickness (it is twins this time though so more hormones).  Most people's morning sickness starts around 6ish weeks.  Here's hoping you don't get any. :)
  • I never had morning sickness.  I occasionally gagged while brushing my teeth but that was it. I have always been able to eat anything I've wanted and was rarely ever nauseous.  I was just really tired and recently have been getting more headaches.  I was that lucky 10%!

    This! Totally different.

  • No m/s here. Mom didn't have it either. There must be a genetic factor...

My sister was never, ever nauseous with her 2 boys.

I was nauseous with DD from Week 5, started throwing up at week 8, and threw up regularly several times a week until week 18.  I've already had a few small bouts of nausea, but nothing a little food didn't cure.

  • My mom had none for any of her 4 pregnancies (one of them m/c).  I had none for my first pregnancy, and so far (week six), nothing more than just feeling a little over-full after meals (even small ones) for a couple hours.  I'm knocking on wood...

  • This is my third. With my twins- absolutely NO m/s. With my daughter- NO m/s. This time- lots of nausea and vomited once. I think its just different with every pregnancy.
  • I never had any m/s

There were things that weren't appealing, and I'd get hungry nauseous if I got too hungry, but I just kept snacks with me and I was fine

  • With the exception of ocassionally feeling too full after a meal, I haven't had any m/s, and I am in my 11th week (knock on wood).  Neither my mom or MIL can remember experiencing any during any of their pregnancies, either.  Guess we're a few of the lucky ones!

  • Uggg....reading these responses makes me jealous!  For my first, at 6 weeks exactly, I suffered from hyperemesis (severe throwing up so bad I couldn't stop -- OB put me on two different meds).

This pregnancy hasn't been as bad.  I've been pretty nauseous since 6 1/2 weeks, but haven't thrown up yet.  It is still going strong.

  • Never had it. Only a couple spells of feeling queasy.
  • 3 pregnancies, no m/s with any of them.
  • i haven't had any and i didn't have it with my boys either.
  • With DD I never had morning sickness.  I do have a hx of getting carsick and I did gag when brushing my teeth during last pregnancy.  It's too soon to tell w/ this one but I hope not!
