Why are Luvs so much cheaper?

I noticed they were significantly cheaper than Pampers and Huggies... what's wrong with them?

Re: Why are Luvs so much cheaper?

  • I LOVE Luvs. Love them. I actually prefer using them to Pampers or Huggies. Never had a leak or blow out - unless of course it was because of an enormous mess.

  • My SIL said they leak really easily (she has 3kids). Not sure if it's true for everyone but I bought "Parents Choice" which range from $5.88 a pack to $6.24 a pack depending on where you get them. One Walmart has them for the $5 something and another 20min. away has the same for $6 something.
  • My kids' pedi says she hears from a LOT of her kid's parents that they cause rashes. I know my 2nd had this problem with them and my 3rd did for a while. They have some kind of purfume in them too. i think they hold just fine if you don't let your kid run around in a nasty diaper for an excessive period of time. Some kids are just sensitive IMO and according to my kids Pedi.
  • They leak and they smell
  • I love Luvs! DD is 2, and has worn them since she was out of Pampers Swaddlers. Once she got into regular Pampers, they gave her a horrible rash. I switched to Luvs, and haven't had a single problem at all, not even a leak.

  • I didn't start using them until after DD was 1 year, but I had no problems with them. No leaks. No rashes.

  • They leak and they aren't as soft as pampers.

  • I always used Pampers. I tried them and both my girls got rashes where the diaper touched their butts. It was so obvious it was the diaper. I never tried them again.

They didn't work with DS and they had a horrible chemical smell to them.

  • We use both Pampers and Luvs.....

We have Pampers for daycare because they are required (or Huggies).  The daycare provider made a general rule for everyone because she feels those diapers are, in general, superior and she won't have to be changing as many diapers as often than other brands.  We have had no issues with Pampers at all.

We use Luvs at home, because they are cheaper and I personally think they are just fine - they hold, they don't leak, and they do not smell.  We've never had any blowouts.   My friend recommended them to me and told me they were the best with her boy.  I tried them and we've never used anything else at home.

  • IMO they suck! I don't like them at all. DD always blew out of them and they leaked really bad. We never had rash issues or anything, just the leaking.
