It is important to learn new things everyday...this is what I learned about The Bump world today:
1. GM = Grandmother, not General Manager. All unknown acronyms should be researched either in the glossary (which there are WAY more flying around here than are represented there!) or on the "New to the Bump" board before recommending that someone's GM go jump in a lake for a less than filtered comment. *You have a great sense of humor Hyfagal, thanks!
2. Unpopular Opinion Thursday is not as "safe" as Flame Free Friday. I have yet to discover the origins of these weekly holidays and am curious as to the other days of the week that may contain little random nuggets of sharing.
3. Ferberizing has nothing to with air or fabric freshening. (Google it, I had to! 
4. Siggy is not a cigarette.
By the time this bambino is born I may finally have this all figured out but until then...Wheeee! What did you learn today?

I learned this some time last week... but DD can mean two things: Dear Daughter or Dirty Delete - and you should NEVER commit the second DD!
It's fun being new... but it's frustrating when the glossary doesn't have all the info you need to keep up with the posts!! And google doesn't always work!

I have no problem with people asking about the abbreviations. There are a shitton of them on the boards and sometimes it's easier to ask a regular than search google. Different forums have different meanings for the same abbreviation.
One of the infamous ones is BFing ; )
Oh crap! What's a dirty delete so I don't do it?
Today I learned that karma will bite you in the ass for every time you roll your eyes when a woman asks, "If I don't have m/s today am I still pregnant?" or, "Am I having a mc if my boobs don't hurt as bad today?"
This morning I woke up feeling much better than normal and my first thought was, "Oh Sh!t, I don't feel like barfing. Something must be wrong."
Jeez.
DDing is when you delete a post because you're getting flamed or don't like the answers you're getting. It's best to take your flames with a grain of salt and move on.

Oh no! Not directed at you! While so many scary and sad things happen everyday there are also fun/funny things here everyday and I was a little surprised to have so many views and so few comments. I'm working on my impatience.
I just thought it would be nice to end the day on an upnote while I can. mmmmm chocolate mousse!
oh no worries, I laughed when I saw the post! I can add something new that I've learned about the Bump boards - there definitely seems to be high traffic times. The weekends tend to be dead! Early morning seems to be the most active.
I've also learned that if I don't force myself to stop bumping I will spend ALL day lurking around the boards and then feel UBER guilty about not getting the laundry, dishes etc. done! The Bump is winning today btw...
It got a lot of us.

According to the glossary: NFT is "no further text" although I have no idea what that means. "I'm not talking to you anymore?" "Not to be discussed here?" Not sure.
It means there is no text inside the thread. They post the title--usually to get someone's attention, but let everyone know that there is nothing inside the thread.
