I am not planning a theme just color schemes. I love, love, love some of the PBkids bedding so I will work my colors off of the bedding. I am thinking either the boys Morgan bedding or the Blue & Green Kasey Bedding if its a boy or the girls Morgan bedding or girls Kasey Bedding if its a girl.
We dont have a theme, i let my husband pick the crib bedding he liked that was girlie, its just some butterflies and flowers and its green and pink. tho the room is blue...haha
We are using a Tigger theme. I have collected Tiggers since I was in middle school - mainly the small bean bag Tiggers that are dressed up as different things. However, I am not doing the bedding in Tigger. First of all it's hard to find just Tigger stuff (I'm trying to avoid Pooh & the other characters as much as possible). Second, in case I decide to ditch the Tiggers for a future kid, then I'll still have bedding I can use.
I've also discussed with my friend who is hosting my baby shower that I don't want a Tigger theme shower, which she completely agrees with and understands. I don't want everyone else buying Tigger stuff. That's more for me and my family to pick out. I'm kinda picky about what I want (no classic Tigger).
What is this theme business and why is it that everyone insists that a nursery must have a theme? Is it that hard to believe that no, my nursery doesn't have a theme other than "girly, cute"?
{Hi lurking on preg. boards while we TTC}. I love when nuseries DON"T have a theme! So many of my friends have everything in the room all "matchy matchy" and I feel like I'm standing in a babies r us or target. It looks so cheap too me. Our baby girl has a mural of a carousel horse my mom painted, pale yellow walls, a victorian sconce, and a star design area rug. Nothing is a theme. Go for your own style! Be creative!
I had a theme with my first..."winnie the pooh" why oh why...lol WIth #2, no theme, it was " look what we already have" and then #3 was a girl so it was "pink threw up everywhere"..lol With #4 it is another boy BUT I got rid of all the stuff from #1 and #2, so we are starting all over again!! This is my SO's first baby, so I am looking for a "theme" or "scheme" or whatever, that suits his style ...probably something to do with hunting or the outdoors, otherwise thats a Theme-y as I get!!!!!!!!
To each their own. If you want a theme, do a theme. If you don't, don't.
Mine is sort of theme-ish, but not really. I basically just went with classic style- antiques, vintage pictures, etc., and crib bedding that matches my baby quilt from when I was born.
