baby girl is looking good. plenty of amniotic fluid, and she is practicing breathing - really cool to her her lungs moving some! she is measuring at 5lbs already! the doctor thinks if i go close to my due date we are looking at a 8.5-9lb baby ![]()
my cervix is shortening, but i am far enough along that that doesn't necessarily mean anything. i also appear to be starting to dilate just a bit, but again, this could mean nothing or it could mean something. the FFN test came back negative, so it is likely i will make it to 34 weeks. however, i am on STRICT orders to take it very easy until 34 weeks...so at least two more weeks of doing not much.
overall good, though i am still nervous about the fact that my cervix is getting shorter. really nervous, in fact, but trying to stay positive. if you have any spare good vibes/thoughts/prayers i'd appreciate them that she stays put until much closer to full-term. thanks ladies!
Re: mostly good appointment
Ditto!!!
Mostly good sounds good to me! I think it's so cool that you got to see practice breathing, and I'm so happy you've made it this far! I'm still crossing my fingers and saying prayers that you bake her a while longer!
(and those books are totally going out tomorrow, not today. I thought I knew where they all were, but #3 has apparently hidden itself very well and I need to find it)

well...try to remember that those weight estimates can be off in case you DO go to your due date... and if you DON'T then know that sometimes they're pretty accurate and that would mean you'd have a good sized little girl in advance of the actual due date.
i'm glad things are still going pretty well. was this really your last high risk appt or are they keeping you on until 34 weeks to try and sort out the shortening cervix/dilation issue?

it was my last unless something new comes up. kinda bittersweet - i LOVE my high-risk doc and i'm only so-so about my OB. i guess it is a good thing though :-)
try not to stress! you're doing a super job of keeping that baby cookin so far.
does your OB do any natural therapies? For instance, my MW suggested that next pregnancy, I use some progesterone suppositories nightly the first 20 weeks or so. I don't know specifically what therapies might work for keeping the cervix closed in your case, but i imagine there is something out there?????
i've been getting progesterone shots since 16w and will continue to 36w. they've done most of what they can for me so far - hopefully it will continue to be enough!
