I just got a bag of fabric remnants from my mother-in-law and I was thinking about making some extra bibs now that we're on to solids (oh boy! what a mess!).
Just take a bib you own now (a big one lol) and trace it. I did this, then added a bump on both sides so the bib covers the shoulders better.
And velcro v. snaps is a personal preference. At first I loved the velcro because they are easier than snaps, but then DD figured out that if she pulls hard enough it will come off.
That said, I ended up giving in and buying two BabyBjorn (not very EEF I know) plastic ones and they are awesome.
Thanks! This is basically what I was planning on doing.
(And - I have two plastic bibs too. We tried them a few times but they are too big for our skinny little baby! Hopefully she will grow into them one day so they are not a complete waste....)

Wish me luck with my sewing machine this weekend!
