Is ICSI only used if there are MFI issues? We don't have MFI, but I'm wondering if ICSI would increase our success rate for IVF#2? Has anyone done ICSI without MFI?
TIA!

Re: ICSI question
The two RE's we interviewed use ICSI no matter what (unless you say you don't want it). Their reasoning was that you reduce the chance of poor or "odd" fertilization, in that there isn't the possibility of two sperm getting into one egg if the outter shell of the egg does not close fast enough. And they are able to pick the "best" sperm that they can see.
I don't know how true it all is - but that's what they said. And it does not matter if you have MFI or not, they like to use it on all patients.
Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
