co-sleeping? falling out of bed?

DD has fallen out of bed 3 times in the past month and a half. I feel AWFUL... we do have a pretty small bed, and granted most times when I finally get to bed with her at night Im so tired that its hard for me to notice (like I used to have super senses) when she moves or rolls.

wdyt? suggestions? is it time for pnp at night too :(

Haha.  Most co-sleepers use a bed rail, and some (like me), have the crib sidecarred to the bed.  If you have room, it's awesome!  I put Neriah back on 'her bed' after I nurse so we both have space (she's a big mover), but she can still crawl to me/I can easily grab her when needed.

  • sidecarred crib? have I been living under a stinking rock?? Oh man, I'm so relieved to see that I don't have to give it up completely (yet)! after xh left DD was in bed with me every night and I would feel so weird without her, and I think it's defiantly a comfort thing for her too!

Don't stop if you both enjoy it!  Neriah still gets up every 1-3 hours to nurse, so we mostly do it out of necessity, but I'm pretty sure I would still be doing it even if she STTN.  I love the morning cuddles!!

Here's the tutorial I used to sidecar: https://www.freewebs.com/sidecarcrib/  HTH!

We use a bedrail - ours was $20 from BRU. :)

  • Try a bedrail, a sidecar crib, moving your bed up against a wall or even just taking your mattress off the bed frame and put it right on the floor.

  • DS fell out the other night and of course I felt terrible too! I orderred a bedrail from Walmart.com- well worth it, though I feel like I'm sleeping in a crib LOL

  • Personally, I would not feel safe bed sharing if I was so tired that I wasn't noticing LO's movements, especially if LO is falling out of bed. Maybe put your DD in the PNP starting off and then bringing her to bed at first waking, that way you could get some sleep alone.
