XP: Frozen BM question

We thawed a bag of frozen BM for the first time tonight (we've been using refrigerated) and there were some thick particles in it, like the fat layer had separated into lots of tiny clumps.  We tried mixing it, but there were still some particles of milk in the liquid.  We weren't sure if this is normal, so didn't give that bottle to DS.  Please let me know if this happens to you.  Thanks!

It's normal for the fat to separate.  BM is non-homogenized.  Just warm it to slightly above room temperature and swirl it around to mix, but some fat may still not fully dissipate.

The very first time hubby noticed this it was in the middle of the night and he though it was bad so he ::::gasp::::: threw it away. He told me 3 days later and said he didn't want to upset me by telling me my milk had gone bad.
