When did you go in for your first appt?

 What did they do? I have heard paperwork and a urine sample. Do they also do an ultrasound?

 I have actually already been in to see the dr. for bleeding but they still said I need to schedule my "first" prenatal appt.

I am about 5 weeks, and my first apt isnt until June 2nd. I was wondering what they do on the first visit as well, since all Dr's/hospitals are different.

When I called after I got my BFP they told me I should come in between 7 and 10 weeks. They gave me a date range. I'll be going in around 9 weeks. A nurse called me on Monday to get my last period date and she said the first appt. will be paperwork, an exam and an ultrasound. They also said DH was more than welcome to come and the appt. would last about 1.5 to 2 hours. Hope that helped!

My sister and myself had to take some "class" before we could even meet the doctor.  They talked about differant stuff duing pg and what the tests were looking for  Then we got paper work and you got your lab paper work then they made an appt to see the doctor.  My first appt with a doctor was 8 weeks were they did the ultrasound.  It was a few days after this "class".

Five years ago when I had DD we had to attend a class where we watched some videos (nothing important) did a medical history for both of us and got orders for blood work. My first appointment with an NP was at 8 weeks for a Pap and I saw a doctor at 12 weeks for an u/s.

For the next two pregnancies ('08 and '09) We had to meet with a nurse who took our medical history and ordered the blood work. Second pg I went to the doctor at 8 weeks and had an u/s. That pg ended in a miscarriage so with the third pg I was able to see the NP at 5.5 weeks for an u/s.

almost all Kaiser pg ladies have to do an appointment for paperwork and blood work. Whether it's with a doctor or not varies.

They wouldn't see me before 8 weeks as long as things were going alright.  First appt. was a chat, BP, an internal u/s, urine sample and a WHOOOOOLE lotta blood taken.  That was it.
