do you stop drinking water after a certain time?

the last 2 nites I have been up several times to pee and its pretty frustrating. I know that both nights I was drinking water well into the evening - Im thinking I better stop after 7 at the latest ... ? has this helped anyone avoid middle of the nite wakeups or at least helped keep them to a minimum.

Re: do you stop drinking water after a certain time?

  • Usually after dinner I stop...I made the mistake of having a glass the other night at 9pm (I have a thing for ice water lately!) and I was up 5 times that night...it was awful! I can usually keep it to 2 trips at night if I stop around 6-7pm.

  • I get up to pee every 2 hours each night. It's miserable.  Unfortunately, stopping fluids at 7 would never happen for me.  I am always thirsty!

I'm interested to hear the responses though...

I stop every night by 6pm :)  I get up to pee around 10/11 and again around 3/4 and that's it.  I would be really upset otherwise!

  • I usually avoid it after 7, but if my waterbottle is hanging out nearby that water is GONE.

Thankfully I can usually last from 10pm-5am without peeing.

This is me too lately! Ive been trying to remember to drink it during the day. I know I need it & its good for me - but the middle of the nite BHs due to a full bladder are killin' me!!

  • No -- I must have the world's largest bladder.  I drink water constantly and usually have a huge glass right before bed.  I can count on one hand how many times I've had to get up to pee in the middle of the night -- I almost always make it through the night and just pee in the morning.  It's crazy -- I'm not really going to the bathroom anymore than usual.  But I'm also carrying super, super high.

wow - LUCKY! Next youre gonna be telling me you're youre wearing your pre-pg jeans home from the hospital! ;D

  • um, i usually try to stop liquids around 7 or 8, but I still need a few swallows to take my Procardia around bedtime. Seriously, 3 small swallows of water last night, and I got up to pee 3 TIMES in 22 MINUTES!!!!! I told DH that had to be a new record! If I take a unisom, (whole or half) I get up about 2-3 times, without unisom, prob 6-7 times a night. But if my bladder isn't completely empty, I get really strong/long/hard to breathe thru Braxton Hicks...
  • No - I usually drink almost a liter between 7 pm and the time I go to bed and I only get up one time at night to go to the bathroom.
  • No.  Hydration is suppppper important during pregnancy, I don't think anyone should cut themselves off to avoid going to the bathroom.  Going pee in the middle of the night just comes with the territory of being pregnant.  I have water on my night stand and I always need it throughout the night.
  • I try to drink enough water throughout the day to keep me from over indulging at night.  But I do tend to stop all liquids by 8pm.  With that I go to bed around 11pm and am up at 2am and 5am to pee.
  • i hate getting up to go to the bathroom at night as well, but i still bring a glass of water with me to bed every night.  i'd rather stay hydrated than not...
  • I don't limit myself when it comes to water.  Even in the middle of the night.  I figure if my body and the baby need it, why not?
