Is anyone really familiar with Cape Cod? We're looking to rent a house there for a week with family and aren't sure which towns are the nice ones...we've stayed in North Falmouth and it was really nice...I've also heard good things about Chatham. What other towns should I be looking at?

Re: Cape Cod
Hyannis and Chatham are my favorite places in the Cape. Hyannis seems like they have a lot more do to - activities, shopping, restaurants, bars, etc...
You'll have a great time!
We always stay in the same rental in Truro. There is nothing to do there but relax on the ocean. You can walk or drive into Provincetown (2 miles) where there is shopping, dining, entertainment and crowd watching
We will usually go on a couple of day trips to the towns pp have mentioned or take a ferry over to Nantucket.
Let me know if you would like the link to the rental. I seriously love going there.

I hope you don't mind me responding. But I have summered on Cape Cod ever since I was a little kid.
My favorite place on Cape Cod is Chatham. IMOP it has the nicest beaches (you can buy a pass for the week) and they are quiter and has the most entertainment for adults. When I was younger we used to summer in Pomponesset/New Seabury which is also VERY nice. Other nice towns are Harwich/Harwichport.
Chatham has a great down town, shopping, resturants ect. Chatham Bars INN is Fab as well as Wequasett Inn all great places. Chatham also has the Chatham A's (AAA summer baseball team) which is sooo much fun to go and watch on a weekend. The kids are all REALLY good baseball players and many go on to play in MLB. It is also close enough to go and catch the ferry in Hyannis to MV or Nantucket for the day and or drive to the Cape Cod National Seashore and or Ptown.
If you are looking for a house rental my suggestion is to start now. Since we sold our house when I was in high school we have always rented and have gotten great luck on Craiglist or I need a vacation.com.
Have a great time! I am gonna miss being on the cape this summer!!
