How long after drinking a glass of wine...

can I nurse again? I had a glass with dinner around 6, and am planning on giving DD a prepumped bottle at her next feeding in about an hour, and will probably need to pump before going to bed.

How long should I wait after drinking before pumping is ok? I don't really want to have to pump and dump if I don't have to!

if you feel fine to drive then you are good. I usually wait three hours or so if I only had one glass. I also have strips from target that tell you if your milk is okay

Yeh, I had about 6 oz, and was planning on waiting atleast 5 hours, even though I would be fine to drive right now. Thanks!

If you are worried about this get the strips for the future. Personally if I have one glass I don't change anything...I feed her as usual. Most of the data suggests that it gets to the LO in such a miniscule amount that it doesn't cause harm. Even my OB and pedi say it is ok. I am more worried about nutrasweet than alcohol so I don't drink my favorite soda...coke zero. I haven't had a coke zero since before my IVF treatment started. That will be the first thing I drink when I wean.

Unless you feel tipsy, I wouldn't bother giving her a bottle at all. I've actually nursed DD while drinking a mimosa in the past. Alcohol leaves your blood and your milk at the same rate.

If I have one glass of wine, I don't wait. Based on everything I read and heard from LC and pedi, one glass isn't a big deal. I have a glass of wine about 3 times a week, and I nurse as usual.
