A piece of my nipple is missing

My right breast has been sore these last few days and I ignored it because the pain went away. This morning I BF DS at 630 and felt a soreness 3 hours later. I went to the bathroom at work to check right now to make sure everything is okay and a piece of my nipple is gone! It is a cut from where DS bit me!

Any tips to medicate myself to get back to BF will be greatly appreciated! Could I use nipple cream?

I've had my LO do this before.  I used an antibiotic cream at work and cleaned it off before going home when she would breastfeed.  I just grit my teeth at home and used nipple cream, helped a little.

I haven't had a big piece missing but I have had a hole...I used Lanisoh and it helped. If I didn't use the cream then when the nipple would leak serum from the hole it would stick to my pad or my bra and then it would pull the scab off. OUCH.

Newman's all purpose nipple ointment. You need a prescription for it but it's amazing...fabulously soothing and it heals everything.

I air dry after feeding then use neosporin to help with healing.  I also read on kellymom.com that after feeding you can rinse your nipple in a saline solution (1/4 tsp salt and 8oz warm water).  I did this and it really seemed to help.  I would use the salt water, then air dry, then use neosporin.  I also use the breast shells to help air them out.
