I had my 6wk check up today and got samples of Seasonique BC pill. We talked about Nuva-Ring but I want to read up on it before trying it. Anyone have any experience with it? Are there any major side effects? Was it easy to put in/take out? TIA!
Just sharing my experience...I was on it when I got married and the six months I was on it, my husband and I fought like crazy - everything would bother me....I would get angry at little little things and my anger was totally out of control. It was only after I got off it and started using Yaz that DH pointed out that it was the ring that made me so crazy and totally altered my mood. This is just my experience.
As far as using it is concerned, it was really easy to put in and take out but a couple of times it did come out during sex and sometimes I would feel it - but overall, it is definitely more convenient than the pill.
I'm on it. I really like the convenience of it (not having to remember to take pills) but I do feel it slipping out sometimes. It never falls out, but I can feel it. It's not an everyday thing either... just sometimes.
I have had crazy bad nausea... so bad I took a HPT to be sure I wasn't pregnant lol. But the only thing I can think is the nuvaring. I am very sensitive to hormones (horrible m/s, always nauseated around my period, etc). I'm going to give it another 2 months to see if my body can adjust.
Overall I really do love it! Also, for sexy time my OB said I can take it out. I just rinse it with cool water before putting it back in. (max. of 3 hours outside you)
I found it easy to put in and take out. It's harder taking out IMO. Sometimes I feel like it's reeeally far in there
I was on it before we started TTC. I don't wear tampons so I was worried it would bother me. I learned as long you put it in far enough I couldn't ever feel it! I started taking it becuse every other BCP made me nauseous. They put me on it because it has the lowest level of hormones. I never felt sick on it ... I had tried every other BCP and the patch which all made me sick.
Only negative side effect is I had NO sex drive whatsoever! OB said that was a side effect of this that can happen. But if I start takig BCP again I will take it because like I said its the only one that didn't make me sick and it is so convient not having to remember a pill.
I've been on it for years and love it. I can never feel it (neither can DH), it's never slipped/fallen out, and I only have to remember it once a month. I think it's so much better than taking the pill.
I had it- no side effects. I could feel it sometimes but not a big deal. I'd love to go back on it after I'm done BF. I think you can get a sample to see if it works for you.
Re: Anyone have Nuva-Ring?
I had it in for a week but couldn't take it anymore. I could feel it in. Then again, I can't use tampons b/c I can feel them.
