there are rumors about diets and supplements and vitamins to prevent preeclampsia.... nothing proven. sure this stuff may be a great supplement to a good diet, but it's not going to prevent preeclampsia. I ate the healthiest I'd ever eaten when I was pg with dd... I worked out... and yet I still developed preeclampsia. it sucks but it's a physiological issue with the development of the placenta.
your best bet, eat healthy foods, take your multivits, exercise and decrease stress. and pray. try not to focus on your past pg... focus on the joy of this one. and take good care of yourself.
Google Preeclampsia and Juice Plus. I just started taking it this pregnancy, and I don't know if it will work, but I figured it was worth a try. In a study they did I think about 20% of the the non jp patients developed pre-e, and 0 in the JP group. That made me want to give it a try.
I saw in a post below something about juice plus for pre-e.
I will try anything not to get pre-e this time ...
what is juice plus ???
I'm actually laughing at this because I'd never heard it before. Ironically, I took juice plus all throughout my first pregnancy and I developed pre-e and HELLP at 33 weeks. My son was born at 35 weeks. I never took it once during my second pregnancy and did not get pre-e.
In answer to your question, juice plus is a whole food supplement comprised of fruits and veggies juiced and dried and put into capsule form. You get the benefits of the nutrition of the fruit/veggies in the capsule form (obviously not the fiber or fullness). It incorporates veggies that most of us would not think to eat (beets, etc). My sister used to sell it and I got it from her. I stopped when I ran out because as far as supplements go, it's pretty expensive.
