Re: recommend your jogging stroller

  • We have the Baby Jogger Performance because that and the BOB Ironman got the best reviews and all others were just sort of "eh."  The Baby Jogger has an infant carrier insert so DH runs with her now.

Just a note....the Baby Jogger City Mini and City Elite are not jogging strollers and should not be used for jogging.  They are just made by the company Baby Jogger.  A jogging stroller needs to have at least 16" fixed wheels and shock absorbers.

You can run with the infant carrier inset from 2 weeks old, but without you'll have to wait till 6-8 months for smooth flat surfaces and 1 year plus for any offroading surfaces.

We got our Performance off of Craigslist barely used for $60.  I've seen them listed for 75-150, we negotiated.

  • The BOB Revolution is my favorite baby item by far. Both DH and I LOVE it! We use it all the time.  A little pricey, but SO worth it, especially if you are actually going to jog with it's our only stroller and works great for any outing (store, etc.).

The Revolution isn't really a jogging stroller, it's a neighborhood/walking/shopping stroller with 3 wheels.  It has a small front 12" wheel that isn't fixed, not  ideal for jogging.  If you call BOB they will tell you it's not made for jogging.  You COULD run with it, but you could run with an umbrella stroller too.  I'd recommend looking at jogging strollers that are made for running if that's what you really want to do with it.  The wheel on the Revolution can be fixed, but it's not recommended in jogging circles.  If you are just a casual jogger then you could get away with it probably, but if you expect to run with it daily or use it primarily for jogging, you should get a stroller made for jogging.

  • we use the jeep stroller (found at BRU) with the ibaby that you can plug an ipod into.  You can fix the front wheel that makes it nice for jogging, but you can also unlock it which makes it nice for maneuvering around parks and grass. The ipod function is nice because DS loves music and that way we can both listen as we walk.  Also, it can fit our Graco infant carrier, so we have already started using it.

This is what I have too and it is great!  I still use it with my Graco carrier for jogging but she is pretty much big enough just to go in the seat.  I love the stroller and was also not very expensive so I have nothing but great things to say about it.
