So the doctor on call today said that my boys should go home tomorrow. Why would he say that? I have a feeling they won't be discharged but seriously why would he say that????
I want them home so bad...but I am skeptical of this.
Why do you doubt that it'll happen? Are they still not taking all their bottles? I hope it really is time and the doc wasn't just talking out of turn! :hugs:
Hospital discharge does tend to happen really suddenly like that, they just decide that it's time. We had a few false alarms, but when DS actually went home, it was a quick decision. I hope it's true, good luck!

Yup. Sounds like you are taking them home VERY soon! Make sure you have your camera and such!! Take LOTS of pictures of them in their carseats, leaving the NICU, getting in the car, walking through the front door, in their cribs/bouncy seats at home, etc.
Was this a doctor that is familiar with your boys or one that just comes on once in a while? We had one doctor that I loved and he was Lily's primary dr. then there was one who just came on a few days a month. I hated him because he always changed everything we were working on. If its a dr. thats familiar then be excited, if not then take it for what its worth - they will be coming home soon.

Re: Why would a doctor say this?
They don't always finish every bottle but they are 38w4d and weight about 7lbs 6 ounces...they every once in awhile need 10 or less gavage fed.
They are on an ad lib schedule right now and they have been on it before and it did not end happily. I guess I am just trying to not get my hopes up.
good luck! if not tomorrow, it sounds like soon...
