  • Shotzie, you are too sweet! Yes, I had it yesterday. They retrieved 14 eggs, which I am happy about because that is almost 3x last time, but I'm also bummed about because I'm a greedy little egg monster. :) Now, I'm laying in bed anxiously awaiting my fert report. Eek! Cross your fingers please!

  • I literally got the call just now. Here is what I posted in the IF board:They took my 14 eggs and split them in half to start... One half for DH and one half for DS. Of the 7 for DH, only 6 were mature. They injected that one with DH's sperm. Today it did not fertilize normally... No PN. Of the 7 for the DS, 5 were mature. Of those 5, 3 fertilized normally. We are looking at a 3dt. I only have 3 embryos and none of them are from my husband. Feeling heartbroken.

  • I'm so sorry you didn't get the results you were hoping for.  Try to focus on the fact that you have three embabies growing!!  I am hoping that they are champs and that all goes well at your transfer.

This!  I hope everything goes great from here on out.

  • Thank you, ladies! That means a lot. DH and I talked this morning a bit, and I feel better. I will be focusing all my energies on recovering from the ER so that my body can be ready for the transfer. Thank you again!

I'm sorry the news wasn't quite what you hoped for. I hope you two can have a sense of peace and hope about the ET. Good luck! ((hugs))

  • Thank you, ladies! I've had a lot of time to reflect on this yesterday, and my husband and I have spent a lot of time talking. We knew this was a possibility coming out of what happened during IVF #1 We have already discussed and worked through a lot of the issues surrounding donor sperm, but this was the first time that our theoretical discussions have been put to the test and are very real now. So, me being the eternal optimist feels good that we have three embryos this time (last time we only had two) and those embryos are from much healthier sperm. All in all, I'm feeling a lot more positive and hopeful that tomorrow's transfer will go well, that we will have three great embryos and we will ultimately be pregnant. Sigh... IF is such a fun roller coaster! :)
