Infertility

Ugh. Insurance.

I got my box-o'-meds yesterday for IVF # 2. Well, there were only 5 boxes of Gonal-F multi-dose vials in there. I was supposed to get 12. I called today, and insurance will only send 5 at a time. Uh, that's only 5 days. I need more than that. So, now I have to call every couple days and get a refill sent. I called this morning and they sent another 5. Crazy. They said I won't have to pay a co-pay every time.... I better not!!! LOL!

Oh well. At least I can start my meds tomorrow! Yay!

That sucks that it didn't all come at once.  But, I would refill every day if it meant insurance was covering my meds!
  • Are you doing the 1050 vials? Those puppies are like $900 each! I can see why insurance would limit them. Be glad they are covered!

OMG, LCB, you're so right! I shouldn't complain!!! I need to keep in mind that I'm blessed to even have insurance!

*sigh* I get so mired up in this process, I forget to remember how lucky I am sometimes.

No, they're 450 iu vials. I am doing 225 iu twice a day.

  • Good luck! I hope this cycle is it for you! You are definitely lucky to have meds covered by insurance, but that still is a pain in the butt they are doing that.

  • Good luck with your cycle.  I went though them like that too for one of my cycles.  This last time though, the insurance co sent me this 1000mg vial, which was nice, b/c I wasn't remixing every dose!
