Babies: 3 - 6 Months

putting LO in a swing at the playground

I would like to go to the playground this weekend.  Is it ok to put DS in one of those infant swings at the park - or is he too young?  His neck is pretty strong and we would of course put a blanket over the plastic (he chews on everything!)

He seems too young to be in one of those.  Although he can hold up his neck pretty well, their back muscles and spine are still developing at that age.  I guess use your own judgement.  But I wouldn't.

  • If your LO is 8 months like your ticker says, then i would do it!! Even if he is 5 months, I would still do it. Enjoy!!

EDIT:: I read your ticker wrong. I thought it said your LO is 8 months, but it says 8 months until his birthday. Sorry!! Still, have a good time at the park, and I'm sure he will love the swing.

no problem - I think i should change the ticker anyway, I like it to show his age, I must have clicked on something wrong.  That is the problem with multitasking/slacking at work Stick out tongue

  • I think its recommended to wait until 6 months, but maybe if you just put him in it for a short time and don't really swing him (only a little) i'm sure it will be fine. Then its more like carrying around the house or sitting in a bumbo.
