Pasta Salad

Morning,

I am making a pasta salad for a party tomorrow and was looking for a new recipe to try. I am tired of making the same type all the time and was hoping you ladies might have a favorite I could try.

Thanks!

Heather

  • What's your normal recipe???

I will use italian dressing (kraft or wishbone) in mine with pasta, peporroni, tomato, meat, cheese, sometimes green and red peppers, and olives.. My cousin uses gazebo dressing and feta cheese and her's is excellen, I know she adds something else, but not sure what...

I think pasta salad is something that you can "play" with till you find a taste you like..

have you ever tried using the italian dressing packets that you add oil and vinegar too? Some people like the way that makes pasta salad taste...

hmm I have no other thoughts... my pasta salad is always quick and easy..

  • I don't follow a recipe per se, but I usually use Tri Colored Rotini pasta, a bottle of Italian dressing and then add in sliced black olives, halved cherry tomatoes, some chopped up cheddar cheese and pepperoni and then some diced green and red peppers and red onions. I always let it sit overnight to give the flavors time to combine.

Maybe try a greek pasta salad?  Put everything into it that would normally go on top of a greek salad (I skip the beets)"

purple onion, grape tomatoes, cucumber, chickpeas, greek olives (pitted), feta cheese.  I usually also add fresh herbs like chopped basil and arugula (LOTS of arugula).  Then top with a good quality greek salad dressing.  Oh, and of course the pasta.  I usually use rotini because the shape holds the dressing well.

(I also top this with grilled chicken and use it for a main dish in the summer)

  • I usually jsut do cubed cheddar cheese, either ham or pepperoni, grape tomatoes, sometimes peppers, cucumbers, sometimes carrots, and pasta with italian dressing.

It is good jsut getting boring :)

  • Pea Pasta Salad

(I don't have exact measurements because everyone likes it different ways)

    frozen green peas

    real bacon bits

    Romaine hearts

    shell-shaped pasta

    ranch dressing

Heat the peas so they're no longer frozen.  Combine peas, chopped Romaine, bacon, and pasta in a bowl.  Add ranch dressing till its as moist as you like it.

I use rotinit, grilled cubed chicken, diced red bell peppers, fresh or frozen spinach chopped, halved cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, feta and italian dressing. It is always a huge hit.?
  • Have you ever had the kind my mom makes?  I don't really like pasta salad but i've been told by many thats its really good and people always request she make it for parties.  Its mayonaise based though, and you don't like mayonaise do you?  If you want the recipe let me know and i'll get it for you...

You know i'm a stellar cook and all, but i've added chicken to pasta salad before with italian dressing (good seasoning dressing) and its good.

And yes i'm too lazy to get up and call you so i'm responding here :)
