In addition to using it in your laundry, do you use it for other creative purposes?  The box has suggestions, but I'm thinking there must be more out there!

I make cleaners with it.  Soft scrub, bathroom cleaner, etc.  I'll find the recipes and post them for ya

Laundry Detergent- powder

?          1 bar Ivory soap, grated

?          1 bar Fels Naptha grated

?          1 cup washing soda

?          1 cup borax

?          ? cup OxyClean (optional)

 

1.  Mix and store in air tight container

2.  Use 2 Tbsp per large load.

 

Soft Scrub ?          ? cup borax ?          1 teaspoon vegetable-oil based liquid soap (such as     ?          Murphy?s Oil Soap) ?          1 teaspoon lemon juice ?          I multiplied this recipe by 8 so it made quite a bit.  I had to add a bit of water to make it smooth and not chunky.   1.  In a small bowl, combine the borax and liquid soap to make a smooth paste. 2.  Stir in the lemon juice and mix well.   Multipurpose Bathroom Disinfectant Cleaner ?          2 teaspoons borax ?          ? teaspoon washing soda ?          2 tablespoons lemon juice ?          4 tablespoons white vinegar ?          3 cups very hot water ?          1 clean 24-ounce spray bottle   1.  Combine the borax, washing soda, lemon juice, and vinegar in the spray bottle. 2.  Slowly add the hot water, and then vigorously shake the bottle until the powdered ingredients have dissolved.  Shake the bottle before each use. 3.  Spray on ceramic and tile surfaces and wipe with a damp, clean cloth.   All Purpose Cleaner ?          In a spray bottle, mix: ?          1 T. Borax ?          3 T. vinegar ?          1 T. dish soap ?          2 cups water ?          A few drops of essential oil, if desired.   Scouring Powder ?          1 cup baking soda ?          1 cup borax ?          1 cup salt ?          1 clean 32-ounce plastic container with cover   1.  Combine ingredients in the container and mix well.  Close tightly to store. 2.  To clean a stained surface, sprinkle some of the powder onto a damp sponge or directly on to the surface to be cleaned.  Scour, rinse, and dry.

I use it to clean all kinds of things.

I also put a little bit in the bottom of the diaper pail to destink things a bit.
