  • you'll hear it from me and ten million other people. I know this first hand.  But you just need to have fun and not get too stressed out about it. My nurse told me to start taking prenatal vitamins right away because "you never know when it'll happen."  PLUS they do GREAT things for your hair and nails and skin :) Also, start eating for 1 1/2 :) it's hard to eat for 2 from the get go because you're just not used to it... but start eating a little bit more and your body will have more nutrients to give to the little peanut whenever it sticks!!! :)

    good luck!!

  • Agree with previous post - don't "TTC" - just have fun in the bedroom.  If you are stressing about becoming pregnant or not becoming pregnant, it'll cause stress, which will make it harder to conceive.

It took us 8 months, which doesn't seem like that long now, but we had several couple friends who were getting pregnant right away.

Once I got distracted by something else (in our case, planning a vacation, house repairs, etc.) - WHAM, it happened.  I'm due in December - 8 weeks and 2 days right now.

Good luck - and remember, have fun.

WFT???? Totally off base!  Even when you are pregnant you really aren't supposed to eat for 2. Good lord. Get your facts straight before filling peoples heads with BS. You only need to add an additional 300 calories or so when you are pregnant.

  • I agree! We've been trying for a long time now, and when we got pregnant, I wasn't even thinking about it!

As far as eating for two - unless you plan on working out like crazy and watching your calorie/carb intake, I personally don't recommend this b/c you'll gain a lot of weight, which isn't good for ttc! :)

    Good Luck!!

  • im know about the whole not eating for two, and until i conceive, i have no need to eat more than i already should.  THank yyou all for the wonderful words of encouragement and support, it means alot.. Again thank you and congratulations to you all as well...

  • Also the whole "relax and have fun, try not to think or stress about" don't listen to that... instead start charting at www.fertilityfriend.com to see when the best time to conceive is. Check out TTGP board, but don't start out with stupid questions as everyone there will make fun of you. Do your research ahead of time.?

Yeah, I'm sorry but there is some not-so-great advice in this post.  You don't need to eat for 1 1/2 right now.  You don't even need to do that until you're in your second trimester.  The "relax and don't stress" advice really isn't helpful either.

What I quoted is really some of the only good advice here.  You don't have to chart, but if will help you learn a lot about your body and possibly save you from some of the frustration that you're feeling.  GL!
