Does anyone have window or screen guards?

At ds' 18 month appointment they recommended screen guards for our upstairs windows.  Ds has his bedroom and playroom upstairs.  We do like to open the windows sometimes when we are up there.  We don't generally leave him alone but I have to go to the bathroom sometimes and we all know accidents can happen in a split second.

Does anyone have a window or screen guard that they like?  It seems that bru has a very limited selection.  Is this just something the pedi tells you or is it something that people actually use?

We live on the second floor and have windows that are very close to the floor. They only open from the bottom, so we need something to cover them. I bought a Kidco mesh gate thing this week but haven't installed it yet. I don't really want bars on the windows in case of a fire. At least the mesh can be cut. And I would suggest using something on the windows because as a nurse, I have taken care of kids who have fallen out of windows. Kind of like turning your back on a kid in the tub.
