Re: Adoption Question
I would start with Adoption for Dummies. That's where we started and I think that it does a good job of explaining the different types of adoptions, risks/benefits to each and how to start down a particular road. I like how it tells you what to look for/ask for different avenues. It talks a little about pretty much every aspect, from getting ready for the home study to issues after you are placed. Also, just researching reliable websites and lurking on the adoption board is so helpful. Ask questions!!! We love questions over there and there are many helpful ladies!!
Also, this website/magazine is good: https://www.adoptivefamilies.com/
there are tons of websites out there that can tell you about adoption policies in your state and grant and tax info.
when i first asked where to start on the adoption board I was surprised that tons of the ladies recommended Adoption for Dummies.

I asked this question on the Adoption board and they recommended Adoption for Dummies, Idiots Guide to Adoption or the Complete Adoption guide for a good general overview.
I've also heard that Adoptiong after Infertility is often required by some agencies.
B&N and Borders had about 3 books each on adoption in the whole store, so I bought some on Amazon. I also got one about adopting in the US.
I really felt like I was making progress in the 2ww by researching our options, and if this cycle had been a BFN our plans were to do 1-2 more IUIs while we contacted agencies/organizations to get more info so that we could decide what to do next.
Since we got a BFP, we may try at least 3 more IUIs, but if we don't have a sticky baby we're going to have to move on. I'd be much more into continuing the adoption research if DH's mom wasn't so sick, but I know it's just not something we can devote time to right now.
