I did a home birth in Feb. while living in KC, now that I have recently moved back to MN I am already thinking about our next baby. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a midwife?
it will lead to Amy Knox - I was recommended by someone else to her and Vida Kent. I have since seen the 4-person team at my various appointments and I have had a good experience so far. Of course, I haven't given birth yet, so I can't give you that information!
They are connected with Methodist Hospital and are not able to go elsewhere.
If you're looking for a homebirth midwife, I would visit the Childbirth Collective. www.childbirthcollective.org
They are a group of midwives and doulas that practice in the Twin Cities. Picking a midwife is a very personal decision (as you know) so without knowing you personally, it's a little harder to point you in one specific direction.
Two of my friends are finishing up their apprenticeships and will be practicing soon, and a lot of my friends have had homebirths and have used a variety of midwives. LOL.

I highly recommend Generations Womens Health. I don't believe they do homebirths though. They have one of the lowest c-section rates and are just wonderful. I had nothing but an excellent experience working with them. I had a hospital birth and my midwife was with me in my room the entire time I was in labor from 7am until 5pm when I delivered. If it wasn't for her I would have almost certainly had to have a c-section.
Re: Midwives in MN
I currently see a group of midwives at Park Nicollet (Blaisdell location) in Minneapolis.
