Re: Pampers Dry max issue XP from SAHM

  • I use cruisers and I love them, no issues at all and they definitely don't sag like the huggies commercial says they do...maybe it's because people need to change the diaper more often?!?
  • Yep - Ink got all over Evan's inner thighs and he may have had a little bit of a burn from it too. I swore them off until I just recently tried the extra protection overnights where that gelly exploded all over his belly while he was sleeping.

IMO - Pampers SUCK. I do sort of like the newborn swaddlers, though....but we just used up what the hospital gave us and then went straight to the Huggies Pure and Natural.

If I was a better housewife I would do cloth. But that would just turn into a disaster here, I feel.

  • I haven't used them.  We use Luvs/Huggies during the day, but at night we do use the Pampers Baby Dry and have never had an issue.

And we used the swaddlers as well.

  • Nope, no rashes with the Dry Max.  I do seem to think they leak through for overnight use and when in a carseat sitting for a while.  As for the sag, the old pampers cruisers would sag on Tyler when he was running around a lot.  It was never an issue before he started running and jumping.  The dry max don't seem to sag, but it is hard to say since Ty doesn't wear them and Bri doesn't run, yet.

We all have our different opinions on diapers though.  I know plenty of people who love hHuggies, I have tried every type of huggies diapers and they all leak and had blowouts.  We HATE them.  EXCEPT their Pull-Ups, we like Pampers Easy Ups but I like the Huggies Pull ups a little better.  Luvs just leak horribly.

And I agree with Telco, if I were a better housewife I would also totally use cloth, but I HATE laundry and can't keep up with it as is!

We just used the samples - I think 4 of them, and never had a problem. Never had any Pampers explode on him, as others have experienced. I can see the possibility of a rash occurring - my nephew was allergic to Pampers (this was 11 years ago), which cleared up as soon as my SIL changed to Huggies.
  • Is the issue that they have much more gel?  We used them for about a week in Chicago and they were fine.  Although I did notice the sagging issue a little bit.  Rosie would wear them for an hour, and they would feel like she had been wearing them for hours, they were soaked.

I stick with Wegmans, they don't have any gel at all.

  • Nope, no issues. I have had 4-5 sample packs too....used them in the diaper bag. I think if there was truly an issue, Pampers would recall......the kiddo I watch used to get bad rashes from the OLD cruisers! Not all brands work for all babies.

I buy babydry usually though....cheaper and work just fine. I won't buy anything but pampers ever again.....I gave away the Luvs we tried, and Huggies too....ick! IMO those suck! lol

Wow. I think it's nuts to not flip out over a product giving your baby a chemical burn.

I really do not think that pampers is giving anyone chemical burns.. If you google pretty much anything, there are instances of people saying it gave them a reaction, burn, etc.. And now that its "out there" that people are blaming pampers for the rashes.. everyone is going to blame them every time their kid gets a rash.. Eve had a bad rash last week.. but she's only been in baby dry or the "old" cruisers recently..  It was from her being on antibiotics.. I didn't call/blame  the amoxicillan manufacturer..

Exactly! I really believe it is out of control! Like I said.....if Pampers really believed all these "rashes" happened to be burns and it was their product, they would recall! I have seen some pretty bad rashes working in daycare, babies can get rashes in any diaper.

  • I totally get what you mean - and while some parents are dumb, I highly doubt all of them are confusing diaper rash with chemical burns. Just cause it hasn't happened to your kid doesn't mean they're nuts. I'm glad that moms have a forum like the internet to compare stories about shiity products made by the lowest bidder.
  • I posted the stories on Pampers

    A. Because I thought parents had a right to know what others were experiencing.

    B. Because I dislike Pampers for a variety of reason, this being one of them.

The best thing that came out of me posting this (besides the fact that it exploded all over the internet after I did and got lots of exposure for cloth diapers!) was that tons of parents were able to recognize the rash and realized they too were suffering from it.  Rather than continuing using Pampers and smearing their baby with little to no results, they switched brands and it disappeared.   It definitely helped parents, so I am pretty proud of that!
