Would you recommend some books on BFing? I will be a newbie at all this, and I have read up some on it but would like to get a better idea of what I am really in for. I have "Baby Wise" and have read through that. I have read and added to my favorites the Kellymom website/blog. Open for more!
TIA
Re: Books on BFing
I bought "So That's What They're For" and read maybe...1/8 of it. It was kind of a waste of money but only because Cooper latched right away and nursed really well. If I had any problems that my circle of friends couldn't answer then I probably would have spent more time reading it.
I also bought Happiest Baby on the Block and didn't read it either. Again, we got lucky with an "easy" baby so I never needed.
AND I'm a failure in reading the What to Expect the First Year book. They're all three on my night stand covered in dust.
This might have more to do with my personal learning style, but to me, BFing is something that's hard to learn from a book.
If you have a specific problem you need help with, I get how a book can help. But for general preparation I recommend a class or attending a LLL meeting. LLL is also helpful because then you have people that you can call and ask questions of, and it's free. They also sell The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding which is supposed to be a great resource, but I've never read it.

I have not read "Baby Wise," but the understanding I have is that it's rather antithetical to getting your supply well-established.
Ditto on both resources!
agreed about babywise. babywise pushes BFing far down on the list of priorities.
i can say that although Healthy Sleep Habits gets bad reviews from BFers, i found it much less so than other sleep training/scheduling books. i think it's very helpful in learning what a baby's self determined schedule looks like so that you can help them sleep well without giving up BFing or forcing a schedule, which is counter-intuitive to nursing.
