Pampers Dry Max??

I had no idea about all the negative reviews until I saw LisaK2b's post below! Just curious if anyone on here has tried them out yet and what you think?

We're on our last pack of the old Cruisers and I just bought a big box of the new Dry Max diapers. I figured they would be fine and liked how they looked thinner. But now I'm not so sure, especially if they cause chemical burns! I guess I'll try them out since I bought the box already. But I wouldn't even know what to switch over to because we've used Pampers since day 1!

Re: Pampers Dry Max??

  • I read two posts on 3-6mo about mom's who had kids with major chem burns and I will never buy Pampers.  There is also a FB group of people who have had this happen to them.

    We're huggies users.

That's really scary! I wonder if Target will let me exchange the unopened box for another brand? We tried Huggies when Rena was a newborn and the Pampers fit her much better. But I might try them again.

We did have any burns...just leaks with the samples we had. Target will let you exchange 2 items without receipts per year.  But you can also call Pampers if you opened the box and dont' like it and they'll refund you the money (I guess either cash or more coupons).  They're suppose to have good customer service.  With that said...there's still size 4 regular cruisers at BRU near my house.

  • Eh, we've always been pampers users and continue to use the dry max on C.  We've had no problems.  No chemical burns or diaper rashes or leaks.  The only difference I can see is that they're thinner and don't get near as fat when they're full.  I wouldn't have known there were negative reviews if I hadn't read about them on here.

    Same here.

For the pampers people the baby dry doesnt' have the dry max so that may be another option for you.

  • I've been using them with no problem since Cason came home but think I'm going to switch. I have seen little gel crystals on him when I change him and now realize that the diapers use some sort of something that absorbs the pee and turns to gel, so that is sort of freaking me out. The huggies I have don't fit him right yet so I'm going to try target brand.

We used all different kinds of diapers with K... I saw that with several different brands, not just Pampers.

We use the Baby Dry.  I haven't found anything yet that she doesn't explode out of when she poops, but the Baby Dry ones seem to contain it "mostly."  LOL

  • We just returned the Pampers Dry Max to Target and purchased the Sensitive. But you have to look closely at the box, because the new Sensitives use Dry Max too.

We didn't want to risk it because Evan has had all sorts of issues (reflux, colic, etc) that we didn't want to potentially add one more thing to the mix.

All disposables do this, it is not unique to Pampers.

Did any of you do the diaper experiment in HS chemistry class?  I am still amazed at what they can absorb.

  • We're using the Dry Max not and haven't had any issues like this.  I've tried both Huggies and Pampers and they both leak from time to time, especially when she's "in-between" sizes (they start getting tight in the waist and really full but they are too big in the leg and then leak), but for some reason I just prefer the Pampers.
  • I forgot about the Pampers Baby Dry. I might try to exchange the Dry Max for Baby Dry. Thanks for the all responses and info.
