I see the big tag on the Boppy that advises that LOs don't sleep in their Boppys... Why is that exactly? I am looking at my DD: All swaddled up, snuggled into her Boppy nice and tight... She's not going anywhere! What's the concern with them taking a nap in it?
Thanks!
Re: Why are they not "allowed" to sleep in their Boppy?
They shouldn't sleep on a pillow, period. It can cause their chin to fall to their chest, restricting airflow.
Much like the incidents people were having with those sling-carriers.
i.e. asphyxiation
This. It can cut off their airflow if they sag down into the middle.
Okay gotcha. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks!
Same reason they aren't "allowed" to sleep with pillows/toys etc in their cribs, either...risk of suffocation if they were to fall into the wrong position, etc.
That being said, my DS loves to sleep in his. He's sleeping in it right now. But, he's right next to me on the couch and I'm watching him to make sure his airway/mouth/nose are unobstructed by anything. I would never stick him in his crib for the night with it or anything like that.
this...it's fine as long as they're supervised. My LO naps in hers next to me on the couch all the time, but if i get up, i'll transfer her to the bouncy seat
