When were you in Dubai? We went in Sept '09. It was an awesome experience! I wish we had taken a trip to Abu Dhabi but we ended up not.

I was in Abu Dhabi for a month for work in Jan/Feb 09.  Spent about two days in Dubai.  My experience wasn't as awesome as yours sounds.

I at least got an inside tour of the Burj hotel and see ski dubai (local friend took us around and stayed at the Burj).  Otherwise it was all work.  Abu Dhabi is much more conservative than Dubai and not as westerized.  You won't catch folks in shorts and tanks there.

Were you there for vacation?

Oh, that stinks! Yeah, we went for vacation. Well, my Dad was going there for work and I was like OMG that is cool! Well, my stepmom was going too and I think he wanted someone to keep her company while he was working so she could sight see, etc and not be alone. He made us an awesome offer to go and we couldn't say no! Unfortunately we didn't see inside the Burj, DH went skiing at Ski Dubai though. The worst thing for me was that I started miscarrying #2 the day before we left  I did my best to enjoy the trip and I actually did.

What a great opportunity to go with your Dad and family.  Did DH like skiing?  That sucks and I'm sorry you m/c the day before, but I'm so glad that you were able to enjoy the trip.  It's a once in a lifetime experience for me.

Beautiful pics! I have a couple in my bio from our trip. The ocean was so pretty! Yeah, after a while it would be less cool. We were there for 9 days and I wish we had taken a day or two to see London and Paris. London was a stop on the way there and Paris was on the way home. We had seen pretty much everything we wanted by the last 3 or so days we were there.
