short and sweet birth story

contrax started sat night, but i could sleep through them. sun they continued, but they were all over the place-7 mins to 14 mins and totally non consistent. i cleaned and stayed mobile. as long as i moved around i was ok. we went to our good friends house and spent time with all of them for easter. they walked with me for a while. i called the doc and they asked that i try to make it to my mon 9am appt, but if it was too much to go in. i went home and tried to sleep. about 10 pm i knew it was time to go in. i let dh sleep while i showered and got some last min things done. got to hospital about midnight. contrax were 5 mins apart steady and i had back labor like a mother. they admitted me right away and i was 3 cm. i had been 1.5 for weeks. i asked for demerol, but it wasnt touching the pain. i labored until 4 cm at about 4 am. i hadnt slept good since fri night and was so tired. about 5 am i got the epi and it was heaven. i could move and everything.

dh and i finally got some sleep. at 7 am they started the pit. i had stalled at 4 cm. by 830ish i was 9 cm, so they turned the pit off until the doc came. they wouldnt let me do any practice pushes because he was ready to go. at 9:27, after only 2 pushes my little guy was born.
