If you are/were pregnant with twins what did you do for exercise when you were pregnant? I keep reading how important exercise is but I've also read to take it super easy with twins.
I was waaaay too tired to do anything first tri but am now feeling like I should get up an go go go! I will be asking my OB and peri before I start really doing anything but wanted to see what you guys were doing. Right now I just walk when I can.

I've been a runner my whole life, so I'm still doing that. Not nearly as far or as fast as I had been though. Still about 4x and 15 miles a week. All my doctors have been very supportive of it from the start, thankfully.
I have an appointment today at 25+w, and we'll see what my doctor says about continuing. I'm still feeling fantastic, but my bh are increasing in the evenings post-run no matter how much laying and water drinking I do.
If she says no, I have my bike trainer all set up to do that. Hopefully she'll let me do that since there's no impact on my cervix. Either way, I'd really like to be able to do something. I'll lose my mind if I have to go another 11 weeks doing nothing.
I was restricted to light walking and gentle yoga... and restricted to no exercise at the end. Remember, this is different than a singleton pregnancy, so a lot of the advise out there is going to be very different for you.
I had a blood flow issue that restricted me early, but what my peri said is that when you exercise, your blood is flowing to your extremities and your muscles. He wanted all that blood to be flowing to the babies, and that happens when you rest.
When you do exercise, make sure to rest for a good amount of time after, and stay hydrated!!!
I was told by OB and MFM I could continue doing the exercising I had been doing prior to pregnancy since my body was used to it BUT to listen very carefully to my body and stop when I felt the slightest difference.
I have tried to keep up with light walking but I honestly just don't have the energy after keeping up with my 21 month son all day : / I count that as my exercise, lol!

Thanks!
I will definitely ask before I start. I have gotten rave reviews on a local prenatal yoga class so I'd love to take it.
I've wanted to be more active - I was a runner and 4+x per week workout girl before getting pg. I kept up some light activity to some prenatal dvds until the middle of my 2nd trimester but after that just found that it was stressing my body too much and my muscles just couldn't handle it anymore. I was disappointed that I couldn't keep up some of it so my new routine is a walk daily and I'm going to try to add some prenatal yoga into the mix too & see how my body reacts.
The most important thing you can do is listen to your body!!
During the first tri I kept up with a mix of running/biking/elliptical but was really worn by the middle of the second so I just walked/did some light yoga. By the end, none of that was happening. Definitely check with the dr, but I know mine was okay with it during the beginning, since I didn't have any complications.
Just remembered, swimming is actually great when you are pregnant, especially towards the end. I did go swimming the last few weeks, solely to give my back a break.
